Location. The all inclusive Sunscape Casa Del Mar stands along the white sand beach of Bayahibe, a fishing village located near La Romana, Dominican Republic. Altos de Chavon, a replica of a 16th century Mediterranean village, stands 17 kilometers from this property.
Hotel Features. Five on site restaurants serve fare that includes international buffets, grilled seafood, Italian specialties and Asian dishes. The Jungle Cash Bar specializes in grilled lobster, but is not included in the all inclusive plan. Five bars are located in the lobby, on the beach and at the pool. Outdoor activities include snorkeling, sailing, kayaking, an ocean trampoline and windsurfing. Land activities feature beach soccer, beach volleyball, tennis, bocce ball and bicycle tours. Movies are shown on a big screen under the stars, and nightly shows and parties provide evening entertainment. Resort amenities include an outdoor pool and spa tub, and a full service health spa with a sauna and steam room. Supervised children's activities entertain young guests. Resort conveniences include a hair salon, a video library and laundry facilities.
Guestrooms. Sunscape Casa Del Mar offers 751 guestrooms and suites housed within low rise buildings surrounded by tropical foliage. All accommodations feature sliding glass doors that open onto garden , pool , or ocean view balconies or terraces. Light toned wood furnishings, beamed ceilings, Mexican artworks and terra cotta tile floors lend a feel of the tropics. Room amenities include coffeemakers and stocked minibars.
Expert Tip. The Sunscape Casa Del Mar offers evening shuttle service between the resort and a nearby casino.
Renovation Notice:
The hotel theater, buildings, rooms and restaurant are currently undergoing renovations. The tentative completion date for the theater is October 31, 2006 with a tentative completion date of December 31, 2006 for the other areas. Noise should be expected from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. September 1, 2006 through September 15, 2006 in the theater area. The Seaside Grill will be closed and snacks will be offered in a different location. The hotel will do its best to minimize disruption.
