Location. Maison sans Frontiere is a bed and breakfast set in Carcassonne, France, within 200 metres of the Aude River and 800 metres of Canal du Midi. The region's vineyards are within two kilometres and Lac de la Cavayere beach is within five kilometres of the hotel.
Hotel Features. Maison sans Frontiere is set in an 18th century stone house between La Bastide, the modern part of the city, and La Cite, the medieval part of the city. There is a veranda, and a garden with tables and chairs is available.
There is no restaurant available in the hotel, but a number are available within walking distance. Guests are served a complimentary breakfast each morning.
Complimentary Internet access is available in public areas.
Guestrooms. All five guestrooms are designed in individual styles with themes representing countries around the world. Guestrooms offer views of the garden or the town, and include private bathrooms with showers. Amenities include satellite television, DVD and CD players, microwaves and refrigerators (on request) and complimentary newspapers.
Expert Tip. Museum Memoires du Moyen Age, 2.5 kilometres away, details the three main stages of Carcassonne's existence; Roman settlement in the third century, the city in the year of 1200 and the city during the siege of 1240. There is a video room and a room with models. Entry is 5 EUR for adults.

From Carcassonne Airport (CCF):
Distance to Maison sans Frontiere is 4 kilometres, approximately 15 minutes' drive.
Getting there. Complimentary airport transport is provided by Maison sans Frontiere when possible. Alternatively, there is a Navatte (shuttle) that runs between the airport and the SNCF railway station in the city centre. Fare is 5 EUR for a single trip. Buses depart from the airport to the railway station 10 20 minutes after flight arrivals. Taxis cost about 12 EUR to Carcasonne city centre.
Getting around. Carcassonne is divided into two neighbourhoods that are separated by the River Aude: La Cite, or the old Medieval town, and the Bastide, the modern side, connected by the Pont Vieux. Both sections have their own transportation. Driving is convenient and easy in the Bastide. The streets are lined and follow a grid pattern and there are plenty of parking spaces. La Cite is compact and mostly pedestrianised, so its roads and alleys are easily explored on foot. From late spring and into autumn there is a shuttle that takes visitors for free from the Bastide to La Cite. During the winter, a local bus must be taken, however buses don't run on Sundays. Hiring a motorcycle is an easy way to get around both areas.
