Golden Villas consists of 26 modern villas and apartments built on the north slopes of Mount Dicti, just one kilometre from the town of Hersonissos. All are decorated in a traditional Greek style with dark wooden furniture, white walls and tiled flooring, and offer air conditioning units, televisions, safes and direct dial telephones. Balconies and terraces overlook the sea or mountains, and bathrooms include phones and bathrobes. The separate living rooms with kitchenettes equipped with refrigerators and coffee makers. Villas also have furnished terraces and freshwater pools, either private or shared between two three other villas.
Guests can enjoy a dip in the freshwater pool which looks out across the sea, and children can paddle safely in their own separate pool. Open daily for breakfast and dinner, the taverna restaurant has outdoor and indoor seating and serves traditional Cretan dishes prepared on a grill, open fire or in a wood kiln and using local produce. On the ground floor of the main building, guests can relax with coffee or drink from the lobby bar, or buy groceries and essential items from the mini market. Multilingual staff at the front desk can offer information on local sites of interest and provide currency exchange, room service and translation services. Parking is free. For nightlife and shopping, the town of Hersonissos is just one kilometre away, and the excavations of the Minoan palace of Malia are five kilometres away. Golfers can enjoy the new 18 hole golf course at Hersonissos Mountain Golf Course at six kilometres distance. Heraklion Airport is 25 kilometres away and the approximate driving time is 25 minutes.

Taxis are readily available from outside arrivals, and a typical fare to Hersonissos is 25 EUR. From Heraklion Airport, head towards Agios Nikolaos for approximately 25 kilometres, then take the right hand turn signposted Hersonissos, travel under the bridge and the Golden Villas are 500 metres further along.
