Location.Set on Gallipolis's seafront just 50 metres from a beach and 500 metres from the nightlife, shops and restaurants, the Hotel Residence Porta d' Oriente is a modern, three floor apartment hotel. Brindisi Casale Airport is 60 kilometres away, a driving time of approximately 50 minutes.
Hotel Features.A range of massage treatments, including hydro massage, can be enjoyed by guests at the hotel, alongside a sauna and full array of fitness equipment. Kids can be kept amused by daily beach entertainments and at the baby club for younger ones. Also on offer is a bar, 24 hour reception service and a private beach.
A range of water sports and activities are available at the private beach, just 50 metres from the hotel, including canoeing, aqua dancing, motor boating, diving and windsurfing.
Apartments. The 41 apartments are spread over three floors, accessible by lift, and have simple, modern decor and furnishings. All open onto furnished balconies, and include air conditioning, televisions, kitchenettes with cookware, dishes and refrigerators, and bathrooms with hair dryers.
Expert Tip. Known as the 'Ionian Pearl', Gallipoli's most prominent monuments are the Angioinian Castle, the St Agatha's Cathedral and the Greek Fountain. Also noted for spectacular civil and religious festivals, the Easter celebrations and the three day Santa Cristina festival in July are worth checking out.

Getting there.A transfer service operates between the airport and the hotel (surcharge). Alternatively, a bus runs from the airport to Lecce six times daily until 11.10 PM, with a journey time of approximately 40 minutes. A taxi can be taken from Lecce to Gallipoli, a distance of approximately 35 kilometres (22 miles). The centre of Gallipoli is compact and best explored on foot, while a hire car is useful for seeing the surrounding area.
Driving directions.From the airport take road SS16 to Lecce then road SS101 to Gallipoli.
