Location. The Mosquito Blue Hotel & Spa stands close to the shops and restaurants along Avenida 5, Playa del Carmen, Mexico's lively main street. A white sand beach spans the oceanfront two blocks from the hotel.
Hotel Features. This charming boutique property brims with character, including the hotel's three restaurants. The Glass Bar is a bustling sidewalk caf� that serves Mediterranean cuisine. The Library exudes cosmopolitan flair in a two story, open air atrium where bookshelves contain literature in English, Spanish, German, Italian and French. The Mosquito Beach Club and Restaurant is located north of the main property, and serves casual fare. Internet access is complimentary. Two deep, free form pools attract sunbathers and swimmers. The lounge area near the quiet pool can be curtained off for private massages.
Guestrooms. The Mosquito Blue Hotel & Spa offers 45 guestrooms, each with a semi private entrance screened by lush tropical landscaping. The mellow ambience is enhanced by carved mahogany headboards and mood lighting. Walls are sponge painted in subtle saffron hues above the chair rails, and ocean blue colors below the chair rails. Beds include damask bedspreads, down pillows and custom 300 thread count Egyptian cotton linens. Guestrooms include satellite television, in room safes and minibars. Bathrooms are stocked with complimentary toiletries and contain showers only.
Expert Tip. The front desk staff can make appointments and recommendations for Itz'a Spa, located directly behind the hotel. The spa specializes in Mayan inspired treatments using plants collected from the jungle.
